PLG Signs Strategic Cooperation Project with Yuxinou and Sino-Singapore Connectivity Private Equity Fund Management

Pacific Logistics Group (PLG) collaborated with Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics, a Chongqing Government-linked Europe-Asia Rail Operator to run air-rail trial shipments from Europe to Singapore via Chongqing. The trial was supported by the Sino-Singapore Connectivity Private Equity Fund Management, which focuses on the funding of joint Singapore – Chongqing projects in key sectors, including transport logistics In this trial, PLG will organise the shipments from both European and Singapore customers via air under the Singapore – Chongqing route, while Yuxinou will support the rail operations between Chongqing and Europe( and vice versa). This trial is a stepping stone towards the possibility of a long-term partnership for multimodal integrated logistics services between the two, with PLG’s Singapore facilities serving as a transhipment hub for Southeast Asia and the joint facility in Chongqing as an international distribution hub for both Europe and the rest of China. During the trial, PLG and Yuxinou will also explore the creation and implementation of a collaborative business model, integrating crucial operational processes and custom clearance procedures for the partnership.

This proved to be a success and paved the way for the full commercialisation of these services.

On 27 September 2016, PLG, Yuxinou and the Sino-Singapore Connectivity Private Equity Fund Management held a signing ceremony for this strategic cooperation project in Chongqing and will cover intermodal transport, global trading distribution Centre, e-commerce, supply chain big data, financial services platform, logistics information service, logistics industrial park and others. Representatives from Singapore International Enterprise, Singapore Ministry of Trade & Industry, Logistics Council of Chongqing Municipal Government and China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity Administration Bureau attended and witnessed this ceremony.

The implementation of this project will help create an efficient freight network between Europe and the Asia Pacific, strengthening the connectivity between the two continents to provide more logistical solutions for enterprises and consumers.
