The Supply Chain Challenge is an annual case competition co-organised by the Singapore Logistics Association (SLA), Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and Spring Singapore for both polytechnic and ITE students to gain exposure to the logistics industry. Through the competition, students are mentored by industry professionals and leaders, honing their problem-solving and teamwork skills by coming up with feasible solutions for real-life logistics-related business problems.
In line with our commitment to education and training, Pacific Logistics Group (PLG) is proud to be one of the selected mentors for students in the finals competition this year, as our colleagues share first-hand insights and their knowledge with the students, challenging them with thought-provoking questions to help them progressively improve their proposal over the 6-week period.
In the initial stages of the competition, an open house was held to allow students to visit the various mentor companies and PLG hosted a group of 17 students at our distribution centre. The finals were held on 22nd July 2016 and PLG’s mentees – TeamJam, a group of 4 students from Singapore Polytechnic emerged as the First Runner Up out of 8 finalists. There were a total of 55 participating teams from the various polytechnics and ITEs. We are proud of our mentees, TeamJam for their achievements in the finals and are honoured to be part of this meaningful event.
